What happened to the SC forum? It's barren in there! Anyway, my Whipple seems to have a bearing that has gone south. I think it's in the snout of the blower. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you handle it? The car still runs fine, it's just really noisy under the hood. At first I thought it was the water pump but I had it diagnosed by the shop I've been using for many years. 07SGT0527 has just over 94,000 miles on it and I had the Whipple serviced 10,000 miles ahead of the 100,000 mile recommended service interval. Not interested in spending $7k for a new supercharger kit either. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I'll respond to my own question - working with my trusted mechanic we've decided to send the blower to www.jonbondperformance.com for a complete rebuild. The technician we spoke with there said he actually owns a Shelby GT, which is nice. He quoted $875 for the rebuild, plus shipping costs from SoCal to his shop in Iowa. I am more than OK with that. The only down side is that I won't have the car back until January.

That's good news. And not too expensive. I def wouldn't want to buy an entire new blower set up either. Not many ppl on here now that most post on the shelby GT fb pages. Make sure to post when you get it back together and let us know how everything is with it. Jeff

Agreed on people migrating to FB. Good suggestion to keep that page updated. Hope it helps someone. But I sure do miss my car.
