Hi Administration Folks, Lots of stuff going on and change etc. Do we have a vision statement for where we are heading with the new forum, were we are and how much longer till we get up and running. Just my thoughts............ GG

Unfortenatly these features were not brought up by the group of members we gave access to early so that they could look at the forum and tell us what they thought. If they could have been mentioned then, it would have been easier to add them before the site was made live.

I can absolutely understand everyone's angst regarding the issues that have and are occurring within the forum change-over. I personally had a few issues. We are all looking to get our high-octane fix from somewhere, since this virus has canceled or postponed many of our favorite car events. A lot has changed and a lot is still in disarray. What I do want to suggest that everyone think about is the level of difficulty and sophistication that is involved in creating a completely custom website. Unfortunately, creating a site, like this forum, is not as easy has clicking a few buttons. It can take hours to fix a minor problem. I am no expert in coding, in fact quite the opposite, but what do know, I have shared.

It may be a cliché, but all great things are worth waiting for, so therefore, as a long-time Team Shelby Member, I will await patiently for the great things that are to come.

Just think of the web-site builder(s) as Gary and/or Vince, behind the wheel of the newest Shelby model testing and tweaking to bring us the biggest, baddest, and best performing car on the road.

How check for Unread Topics..  This has actually been here a little while, just not labeled as such in this program

On the upper right, there is an ballon icon which is circled in the above image.  If you click it, that will take you to the unread topics.  It currently said "My Topics" which i will work on to get change to the correct label.

Indeed!  That does work.  Thanks for pointing it out.  Maybe fix it to say "unread topics".

One less usability obstacle.

I still have to log in every time, and it's a three page process.  Open bookmark, login, accept (browser stored) user/password, check the remember me box again, which it doesn't, then go to some bad redirect page, use back browser back button.  PITA.

I'm encouraged to see hundreds of GT-H related threads and posts back in the GT-H topic areas. (kudos to the IT folks). Hopefully, over time,  all posts will be back in their proper topic area and in chronological order. (I'm confident the posts will eventually be removed from the incorrect topic areas where they were initially placed)

1. No email was received

2. Gary's post doesn't show up as an unread topic, either using the button above or as an item in the subforum list with the little green dot.

The point is that there is this and most likely other material that has appeared that noone sees.

Just more about how this platform doesn't meet expectations.

People have left. There is no coming back now. The changes made are so radical in content and in how the forum is used and the user experience that many have decided it's not worth it. Humans are creatures of habit and simultaneously disdain change. If things change too much, as they did here, they will move on. Especially for recreational material.

Good Afternoon! Hopefully, I can give you some clarification here…

Point 1, the email was sent to everyone that was in our Team Shelby email list. We show that you un-subbed from our lists about 3 years ago. Therefore, we legally can’t send you any more emails unless you were to opt in once again.

If you want to ONLY receive Team Shelby emails, you can opt back in on the Team Shelby home page. If you scroll to the bottom you can find that opt in there.

Point 2, As we’ve stated, we are continuing to try to improve the features and QoL of the forum. All feedback is welcome, and we are doing our best to implement these changes as quickly as we can.

I guess I'm not too concerned about your miffedness.

I will try to say it succintly.  What you see and what I see (and perhaps much of the user community without the rights you have) are different.  Gary's topic still doesn't show for me.  It wasn't there then and if your screen cap is recent, it is not on mine now.   I got a link from a friend.

I'll have to think about the email thing.  Surely don't remember removing myself, so perhaps it was an opt-in rather than an opt-out.

Most places have a multi-tiered mailing system.  This community could be structured as

advertisements (e.g., for new Shelby models)

Activities (e.g., bash tickets go on sale)

Team Shelby notifications (general notifications of forum up/down, info of general interest (e.g., Gary's letter, useful since forums are pull rather than push)

Etc.

The issue with the Unread page is likely because you have your system set to only pull posts from a shorter time period. There is a drop down labeled "Since."  Set it to longer then a couple hours and that should fix it for you.

Guys, We all see the problems right now and the Team is trying to get everything up and running as it should be. You can help them by letting them know when you see issues as most of you have done. Please be respectful. Try to put yourselves in thier position. They want what you do and complaining is of no help. We are TEAM Shelby. Lets all do what we can to be helpful and make this the forums you want. .

Any chance you could screenshot what it looks like for you, and i can look into why it is showing differently for you?  Your help with this is greatly appreciacted.

A number of posts in this thread deal with viewing the unread topics page. I've got mine set up to show unread topics "since last visit". I was on the forum yesterday and this evening it's telling me I have

2,171 PAGES of unread topics. Tried several times without success to upload a screen shot.
