Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, was recognized with the coveted Carroll Shelby Spirit Award, presented by Carroll Shelby International (CSBI:PK), for his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the automotive industry. Jackson was presented with the prestigious honor during the TeamShelby.com VIP Experience banquet on Aug. 17, during Monterey Collector Car Week.

Team Shelby ventured out this year past its California roots to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, as part of the Carroll Shelby Centennial. We stopped by Lance Miller’s, home of the Carlisle Fairgrounds.

Shelby American and Hertz have been trailblazers since they were both founded. Hertz is the only American car rental company to reach 100 years in business and Shelby is the only American carmaker to win the FIA Sports Car World Championship. They made history together for the first time in 1966 when they launched the first “rent-a-race” with the 1966 Shelby GT350-H, which was also the initial vehicle in Hertz’s sports car collection.

As an employe of Shelby American for 22+ years, I have experienced some of the most awesome cars and trucks in the world. I am privileged to test and develop current models, while also design vehicles that we will manufacture far into the future. It is so fun to take my talent of seeing a design in my mind and then manufacture it for those that love the brand, as well as newcomers who have never experienced Shelby.

Executives with Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK), is continuing to build on its legacy of performance vehicles with the new 2024 Ford Shelby F-150 super truck. Limited to only 800 trucks for the 2024 model year, production of the wicked fast pickup has started and will be available for purchase beginning this summer. Based on Ford's Lariat trim F-150 4x4 SuperCrew, the lifted Shelby truck starts at $130,000 with an optional supercharged* version starting at $139,995 that boasts 785 horsepower**.
