Custom Shelby American “SnakeCharmer” Ford Mustang Built for KC Air Show to Take Final Victory Lap Before Sweepstake Drawing

LAS VEGAS - August 18, 2022 – A custom Shelby Super Snake Mustang dubbed "SnakeCharmer" built by Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK), for the KC Air Show Charities is making a final victory lap before the winning ticket is drawn on August 31, 2022. The 825-horsepower super car will be awarded during the Kansas City Air Show, in New Century, Kansas. Until then, the public can see the car and secure sweepstakes tickets at some of the world's most prestigious automotive locations over the next couple of weeks.

"SnakeCharmer has been a star attraction inside the Shelby Heritage Center in Las Vegas for the past few months," said Kerry Floyd, KC Air Show Charities Special Projects Director. "The custom Shelby Super Snake with the patriotic theme has been wildly popular. It's going to Collector Car Week for display at the racetrack and other key events on California's Monterey Peninsula. It'll be trailed to Las Vegas for a few days and then head to Kansas City for the air show. We'll transport the Shelby to Las Vegas after the air show so Shelby American can award the keys to the new owners in the factory 'winner's circle' during the Team Shelby Bash."

The supercharged Snakecharmer widebody package includes

  • Breitling Aviator Watch; the Super AVI P-51 Mustang honors the best fighter plane of its era
  • COCKPIT USA Mustang leather jacket; one of the most iconic flight jakcets ever made, worn by the U.S. Air Force pilots and aircrew during War World II
  • $20,000 cash

SnakeCharmer was inspired by Carroll Shelby's "Green Hornet" prototype and the US Air Force Thunderbirds' jets. The "SnakeCharmer" is part of a sweepstakes package ahead of the much-anticipated 2022 KC Air Show, featuring the US Air Force Thunderbirds. It follows the "Blue Hornet", which was the first collaboration between Shelby American and KC Air Show.

"The Shelby Super Snake has amazing capabilities with 825 horsepower, a spectacular suspension, stellar braking system and handsome styling," said Vince LaViolette, Shelby American Vice President of Operations and Chief of R&D. "We collaborated with Kerry Floyd and his team to create a one-off custom that honors the US Air Force Thunderbirds' jets, which are based near us in Las Vegas. This specific Shelby also features our fully functional widebody package. It is truly a special car that will be a rockstar anywhere it appears."

Snakecharmer is part of KC Air Show's "Wings of Pride" Series, which raises funds for charities focused on children. Carroll Shelby was well known for his passion for fast cars and fast airplanes. He was also compassionate toward children, especially those with health problems. "SnakeCharmer" honors both parts of his legacy with a powerful car whose net proceeds will benefit Children's Mercy Hospital and KC Air Show Charities.

"The purchase of a sweepstakes ticket for the Shelby 'SnakeCharmer' is both a chance to win the one-of-a-kind car and a 100% chance of helping kids," said Floyd. "Proceeds from the sweepstakes benefit a pair of great charities, which means all ticket purchases are eligible for tax deduction."

The sweepstakes winners will also be flown to Las Vegas to join the annual Team Shelby Bash, which is attended by enthusiasts from around the world. Activities take place across Southern Nevada, including the Shelby American production facility. The new owners of "SnakeCharmer" will be able to participate in track sessions, a scavenger hunt, parties, poker run, car show and more from September 29-October 2. They will also become members of the club courtesy of Shelby American and the KC Air Show Charities.

Each vehicle from Shelby American is documented in the official Shelby Registry. Individuals interested in a Shelby vehicle can visit their local dealer or go to https://www.shelby.com/en-us/vehicles. Sweepstakes tickets are available at sweepstakes.kcairshow.org.
